Saw Open your eyes the other night. Extremely good! what I noiced was that he tends to do the music for his films as well. Havent seen vanilla sky though but from what ive seen of the clips it looks identical. I'm sure they must have changed the plot some how? anyone seen vanilla sky?

I too watched Open Your Eyes but thought it was nothing special, that plastacine face was pretty bad and all the drifting in and out of dream sequences got old real fast. Was going to see Vanilla Sky to compare but can't be bothered now, from what I've seen (trailer, clips etc.) it looks too similar, I'm not going to waste another 2 hours of my life on the same old rubbish.

Hey there.
I saw Vanilla Sky a few weeks ago and then watched Open Your Eyes on friday. I enjoyed both movies but I prefered Vanilla Sky. I dont know why, maybe its because I got lots of the pop culture refrences in Vanilla Sky. i think this is one of the better american remakes.
I loved The Others I think Alejandro Amen?bar is a genius. Hes the spanish John Carpenter.

Apart from the fact he hasn't made as many garbage films as senor carpenter. Ghosts from mars? Time to retire, buddy.

It would have been nice if Carpender had retired before he "thrilled" us with Ghosts of Mars.

vanilla sky looks to me as if they got the guys film and said "lets show them how to do it THE AMERICAN WAY.... that bit at the start, lets close down the whole of new york to do it..."
